FLEX SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA)

2017 is quickly coming to a close.  There are so many things to keep you busy, including holiday shopping, preparing a feast for your loved ones, or planning your final memories of the year.  At the bottom of your list may be thinking about your health benefits package.

If you made employee contributions to a health flexible spending account, then you made the wise decision to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible health care expenses for you, your spouse, and your eligible dependents. 

However, unless your plan offers carry over or a grace period extension, any unused portion of your health FSA may be forfeited after the plan year ends under the IRS' Use it or Lose it rule.

Eligible health care expenses include costs for vision care, including:

• Eye exams

• Prescription glasses

• Contact lenses
